Hello you lovely lot.
I wanted to create a post for newbies that might not have a lot of equipment. A really simple spell that can be used for almost any intention that’s super effective and I used a lot at the beginning of my path. I actually still use it now even with a whole apothecary when I’m feeling some simple magick is needed.
This is the bay leaf spell. It really is as simple as it sounds and I’m going to go into a bit of detail for you. I’ll try as usual to format and word this post in a way that anyone can understand no matter how experienced they are.

So they bay leaf is an absolute staple in a witches kitchen. From a herbal alchemy perspective they are particularly useful for spells that are in the genre of protection, banishing, improving psychic abilities, healing, money and general prosperity. You can use them in oils, potions, incense and many more and combine them with all sorts.
OR you can use them in such a simple way. The bay leaf is a big old leaf. Big enough to write on. Do you see where I’m going here? You can buy them at almost any supermarket or shop. They are inconspicuous enough for a broom closet witch to have without raising suspicions and when they burn they leave a beaut aroma (much like a cooking smell) so you won’t get any complaints and even if you do you can just say you’re getting your cook on! What’s not to love right?

Take a bay leaf and a pen, write down your intention for this spell on the bay leaf. You don’t have to go into massive detail. If you’re looking to come into money just write prosperity. If you feel your home needs some added protection just write protection.
• YOUR • INTENTION •
The reason you don’t need to go into much detail in the wording on the leaf is because you’re now going to sit and hold the bay leaf. Visualise yourself already living with the results. If you’re looking to improve your psychic abilities visualise yourself already living with them. Charge the lead with your intention.
• BURN • BABY • BURN •
Using a candle (I usually use white candles for this spell) burn the bay leaf and drop into a fire proof dish. Please never leave an open flame unattended. As the bay leaf is burning I personally like to say the following although you can personalise.
[BC] “I BURN THIS LEAF”
[BC] “MY INTENTION CLEAR”
[BC] “I TRUST IN THE GODDESS”
[BC] “TO BRING MY FRUITS NEAR”
[BC] “SO MOTE IT BE”
[CU] • GIVE • TO • NATURE •
Once the fire is out and I have nothing but ash in my fire proof dish I go out side and blow. I let the element air take it to where it needs to be. Again visualising the end result as it’s done.

• PATIENCE •
My experience with spells like this is that they may take longer to come to fruition which makes sense if you think about it. You’re using minimal tools and effort so I wouldn’t use this for something that was pressing or super important unless you have no other choice. That’s my advice anyway.
